Using a Custom Domain for your Job Board

By default, all job board pages for an account will use www.applicantstack.com in the URL. For example, by default the Openings page of the ApplicantStack job board would look like this:

http://www.applicantstack.com/client/yourdomain/x/openings

You can customize the URLs of your job board to use your own custom domain in place of www.applicantstack.com. If you use a custom domain, the URL for the Openings page of your job board could look like this:

http://jobs.yourdomain.com

To use your own custom domain for your job board, follow these steps.

Step 1: Update the DNS zone for your domain to point to ApplicantStack

First, you'll need to point your domain to the ApplicantStack servers by updating the DNS zone settings for your domain. Note that this assumes that you have already registered and own the domain on the internet with a third-party domain name registrar.

Create a new subdomain for your domain (e.g. jobs) and point it to applicantstack.com. The exact steps to update the DNS zone settings will depend your method of domain registration. For help, please consult the documentation for your DNS zone settings or your IT Support staff.

For example, let's say your company owns the domain sigtel.com, and you want your ApplicantStack job board to run on jobs.sigtel.com. You will need to edit your DNS zone settings to add the subdomain jobs and point it to applicantstack.com. When you are finished, your DNS zone editor screen may look something like this:

TIP: After you update your DNS zone settings it make take up to an hour for you to see the changes, as the settings will need to propagate across the internet servers.

Step 2: Enter your Custom Domain into your ApplicantStack Settings

Once you have your domain pointing to ApplicantStack, the next step is to tell ApplicantStack which domain you are using so it recognizes it as linked to your company account.

  1. Login to your ApplicantStack account and go to Setup->Settings.
  2. Click Edit Settings to bring up the settings editor.
  3. Under Job Board Settings, enter your complete domain (including subdomain) into the Job Board Domain field.
  4. Click Save to save your changes.

https://jobs.sigtel.com
