If your organization has a Facebook page, it may make sense to post all or some of your job openings to your there, in order to leverage the reach of your employees' social network. Here is a typical flow for posting to your organization's social network:
- Your organization's recruiter or hiring manager posts a job opening to your organization's Facebook page. The post contains the job title, preview of the description and a link to apply.
- Employees, vendors, or other contacts that follow / like your organization's page should see the new job announcement, in their news feed.
- Then, with one click, these individuals can share this job announcement with all of their social network. With the multiplying effect of social networking, it does not take long before your job announcement reaches an audience of thousands, with very little effort.
Here's how you can set up the Facebook posting function for your ApplicantStack account.
Find your organization's Facebook Page ID
You'll need to know your organization's Facebook page ID, in order to set up the Facebook integration. To get this ID, open up your organization's Facebook page and look for the ID at the end of the URL. For example, here is the ApplicantStack Facebook page:
The ID for this page is at the end of the URL - 148662978524945. If you do not see a numeric ID then you can go to https://findmyfbid.com/ in order to find your Facebook ID.
Enter your Page ID in your Facebook Job Board Settings
Open Setup->Job Boards->Facebook->Edit Settings. Enter the Page ID in the Post To Page box and click Save.
Go to the Launch tab to post a Job to Facebook
Once you've entered your Facebook Page ID in the step above, you can post a job to the page. Click on a job, go to the Launch tab and for the Facebook line click Post Job. A new window will pop up with your job post, and you can optionally enter a Status message and then Post.
Once you click Post the post will appear on your organization's page and anybody who likes / follows your page will see this in their news feed.
That's it! If you have set up the source in your Facebook setup correctly, then when anybody applies by clicking the link in your Facebook post, their source will automatically be set to Facebook. This will enable you to track and run reports on the effectiveness of your social media efforts.
