When a candidate submits an on-line application through your ApplicantStack™ system, a variety of information is collected in the form of contact and demographic data as well as data that helps you process your applications internally. Not only do the applications collect data at the time of submission, they can also be configured to collect data during the hiring process in the form of scores entered by managers, manager reviews, and other internal data collection. This information is collected by Candidate and Application Fields. This information is different than the information that is submitted by attached questionnaires like employment applications. Unlike questionnaires, candidate and application fields can be used by the system to help you filter candidates as well as guide you through your hiring process.
The Candidate Fields are available for all candidates and are asked for whenever a candidate is created. They are used to collect a candidate’s contact and demographic information, such as phone number, cell phone number, country, etc. The Application Fields are available for every application in the system and are prompted for whenever a candidate applies for a job. They are used to categorize information internally, such as the source of the application (Monster, CareerBuilder, Your Public Job Board, etc), was the applicant referred by someone, or maybe store additional internal information about an application including Rating, Reviewing Manager, Manager Score, etc.
This guide will show you how to add, modify, and remove Candidate Fields, Application Fields and Application Workflow Stages. We will also cover how to associate actions with Application Workflow Stages.
To get to the configuration menu click Setup in the upper right hand corner of your screen. Look for the option Configure Fields and Workflow or you could click the button labeled Configure on the left. Clicking either option will bring you to the Configuration Menu. For the purpose of this guide we will only be concerned with the second section Candidate Configuration and the third section Application Configuration.
The Candidate Configuration section consists of one clickable option. These are as follows:
- Configure Candidate Fields: This allows you to add, modify, or delete candidate fields.
The Application Configuration section consists of 3 clickable options. These are as follows:
- Configure Application Fields: This allows you to add, modify, or delete application fields.
- Configure Application Workflow Stages: You can add, modify, or delete your Application Workflow Stages.
- Configure Application Workflow: This allows you to manage the workflow "buttons" that move your candidates through your workflow stages.
